Fairfield Lawn Bowls Club<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n As part of the O'Brien Electrical & Plumbing Sustainability Community Grants Program, the O'Brien Plumbing Northcote team recently upgraded the iconic Fairfield Lawn Bowls Club. Established in 1913, the club has been running for almost 110 years, hosts social events for the area and has many long standing Club Members who regularly attend.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Thanks to O'Brien Plumbing Northcote and O'Brien Electrical Greensborough, the Club Has been fitted with new LED lights on the green which will help with reducing their ongoing running costs and maintenance.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n When Covid struck, the club struggled financially to maintain the cost of the grounds. \n<\/span>Imre Hegedus, President of Fairfield Bowling Club Inc. says, \u201cFairfield Bowling Club Inc. has been in existence for almost 110 years and we are celebrating our 100<\/span>th <\/span>year anniversary of being at our 125 Gillies Street site. We are a small member-owned community club and are extremely appreciative of the sponsorship and great work undertaken by O'Brien in replacing our greens lighting with new LED lights. The O'Brien team went above and beyond in their work \u2013 testing LED types and configurations before the final installation. The electricians also re-aligned our light fixtures and disposed of our old globes. This will save the club a lot of money in lighting our greens, especially as we move toward\u00a0 year-round operations and increased night bowling. On behalf of the Board, the members and the community \u2013 we thank the management and staff at O'Brien.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
