{"id":16853,"date":"2023-06-27T12:30:19","date_gmt":"2023-06-27T02:30:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.obrien.com.au\/?p=16853"},"modified":"2023-06-28T08:06:35","modified_gmt":"2023-06-27T22:06:35","slug":"the-advantage-conference-2023-wrap-up","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.obrien.com.au\/articles\/the-advantage-conference-2023-wrap-up\/","title":{"rendered":"The Advantage Conference 2023 Wrap Up"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Advantage Conference 2023 held in Perth, W.A presented a fantastic opportunity for the O\u2019Brien Electrical &amp; Plumbing and Laser Network to engage in valuable business updates, hear from inspirational keynote speakers and celebrate the Network\u2019s amazing achievements over the past year.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The recipient of Taskforce this year was the very worthy charity, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/parkerville.org.au\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Parkerville Children and Youth Care<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Around 60<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> tradespeople, Supplier representatives and enthusiastic volunteers joined together to provide valued refurbishments to Rosemary Cottage. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Total Project Value was $72,000, with a focus on renovations that had a positive sustainability impact. The project included:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Electrical Upgrades &#8211; LED Lighting, Replace Existing Electrical<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Plumbing &amp; Drainage Upgrades &#8211; Water Conservation, Preventive Maintenance<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Glazing\u00a0 &#8211; Replacing Broken Windows\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">General &#8211; Painting, Cleaning<\/span><\/li>\n<li>Appliances &#8211; New Kitchen Appliances and a new BBQ<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><div class=\"image-container landscape\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-16868\" src=\"https:\/\/www.obrien.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/Highlights-014-Resized.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1200\" height=\"628\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.obrien.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/Highlights-014-Resized.png 1200w, https:\/\/www.obrien.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/Highlights-014-Resized-300x157.png 300w, https:\/\/www.obrien.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/Highlights-014-Resized-1024x536.png 1024w, https:\/\/www.obrien.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/Highlights-014-Resized-768x402.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px\" \/><\/div><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Greg McKean, Director of O\u2019Brien Electrical &amp; Plumbing says <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cAs part of a community, we really do believe that it is important that we play a role in the sustainability and strength in what it delivers. With keynote speaker Bruce Cotterill and a Networking Night sponsored by Lawrence &amp; Hanson at the Sandalford Winery.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On Day Two, Conference attendees heard from keynote speaker John Hale, aka &#8220;The Strategy Guy,&#8221; who shared his insights on demystifying strategy by asking better questions through his &#8220;Three Questions Hack,&#8221;. Many support office internal presented business insights and plans for 2024, including Gark Larkin, Operations Development Manager, who delivered the Member Experience Programme. This included some great networking events targeted for the back half of next year.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The final keynote speaker, adventurer James Castrission, wowed the audience with stories of some of his World Record setting expeditions &#8211; crossing the Tasman Sea in a kayak and journeying unassisted to the South Pole.
